Everyone Deserves Access.

Hydrate PHX is committed to ensuring that our website is accessible to all people, including those with disabilities. Our mission is about reaching people who need help most. That commitment extends to how we build our digital presence.

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards. These guidelines help make web content accessible to a wider range of people with disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, and neurological disabilities.

Accessibility Measures.

The following accessibility measures are built into hydratephx.org:

  • Semantic HTML: Pages use proper heading hierarchy, landmark elements, and meaningful document structure
  • Keyboard navigation: All interactive elements (links, buttons, form fields) are reachable and operable via keyboard
  • Color contrast: Text and interactive elements meet WCAG AA contrast ratios against their backgrounds
  • Responsive design: The site adapts to all screen sizes, orientations, and zoom levels up to 200%
  • Form labels: All form inputs have associated labels and clear placeholder text
  • Alt text: Images include descriptive alt text where applicable
  • Focus indicators: Interactive elements display visible focus states for keyboard users
  • Noscript fallback: Core content remains visible and readable when JavaScript is disabled
  • ARIA labels: Navigation toggles and interactive controls include aria-label attributes for screen readers
Known Limitations.

We are honest about areas where our site may fall short:

  • Canvas animations: The particle effects (water bubbles, dust) on hero sections are decorative and not conveyed to screen readers. These animations are purely visual and do not contain informational content.
  • Animated counters: Numbers that count up on scroll may not announce their final value to screen readers in real time. The final values are present in the underlying HTML.
  • Gradient scroll effects: The homepage hero uses a scroll-driven gradient transition that relies on visual perception. The content within each phase is accessible as standard text.

We view accessibility as an ongoing practice, not a one-time checklist. As we identify issues, we fix them.

Assistive Technology.

This website is designed to be compatible with the following assistive technologies:

  • Screen readers (VoiceOver, NVDA, JAWS)
  • Screen magnification software
  • Speech recognition software
  • Keyboard-only navigation

The site is built to work with current versions of major browsers including Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge.
